sunset wine

www.sunsetwine.blogspot.com

This is a fictional blog I am writing. I am a woman gong to school in Berkekely when zombies attack. I haven't quite reached the point where zombies attack however, but I think my next post will start to hint a little more at zombies.

Awesome... Anything with zombies is A+ in my book.

I like how you are creating a substantial base to her before the zombies come into play, so it doesn't come across as:

"Oh noes! Zombies ate my brother today, oh, and I also think today would be a great day to start a blog!"

I think its way cool first off that your writing the new blog as a girl. Totally would throw people off. It so convincing. I love it! Maybe write more about the boyfriend and the relationship girls always vent on stuff like that.

Love the concept, however there are a few things you can brush up to bring this character to life.

Oddly enough, less detail Jen is probably going to see this as a long term project, so there is no need to explain everything. It also draws the reader in when she/he figures out relationships/dynamics.

For example, instead of writing "Alex, my boyfriend of three years" just say Alex. This way when folks see things that speak of him they can try to figure out whether or not it is her bf or not.

Extend this to all the areas. Write more diary and less documentary.

It's definitely convincing. I wouldn't be questioning whether or not this was real or not.

The only thing I could suggest is to have something in that first entry that catches people's attention. Of course someone stumbling on this probably wouldn't be reading the first entry first anyway so it probably doesn't matter.

I could see this catching on if something crazy happens to her friend.

Nice job, I like the language you are using, it feels authentic. Also your story is pretty engrossing with the friend in the hospital, it made me want to keep reading.

I would suggest keep going with things like that, almost like a cliff hanger after every post. Leave us always wanting more.

Also, some photos and extraneous posts (about pets or what have you not) would be a nice touch

Oh. Zombies. I guess something crazy *is* going to happen. I should have read your premise first.

This is a great blog. It seems that you have a great fictional-world created that can be expanded upon tons.

I agree with Roger in making people guess about the details. Take more of a diary approach and I think it'll turn out great.

Yeah, well...Jackass (me) read it backward. Made much more sense the 2nd time 'round.

Great start! wouldn't pick it out as a zombie tale. Friends caring, friends sharing, life is sweet, oh shit, a zombie.

Can you keep a level of uncertainty throughout the blog?
